Bellingrath Gardens

Sean and I went to this place called Bellingrath Gardens near Mobile the other day. It was like 15 miles off of the interstate so Sean was not thrilled about going but he ended up enjoying all the beauty. It was so amazing! There was 60 acres of the beautiful outdoors. They had thousands of different kinds of flowers, ones I had never seen before and their rose garden was huge. Here are some shots I got with my digital camera and when I get my film pics developed I will post those because I think they will be even better.
A beautiful rose!

This looks very tropical!

I love this one! I don't know what it is called but it is very unique!
I remember being little and calling these smily face flowers.

Just a tree stump but a neat one!
I actually took this from underneath the flower shooting up at the sky and I think it looks cool with the faded trees in the background.

Sean and I! Gosh, it was so incredibly hot and we probably walked a few miles so my bangs look very greasy but it is the only decent pic we got of us there!
This was a neat little area in the shade where we stopped to rest because there was a bench and a little pond with fish.
I just thought this was neat.
I haven't scrapped in forever but I finally did the other night and here it what I did! That's all for now but there will be more pics to come!

Colorful Surf

Here is my most recent artwork. This is one of my favorites, it is so bright and colorful and has a few different techniques going. I blended colors, splattered drops of paint, and added an acrylic medium to my paint to give it more thickness and texture. I used acrylic paint and oil paint which takes forever to dry. in fact, the New Orleans painting I did recently is still wet in some spots, crazy huh! If you double click on the pics and look at them bigger they look even better!
This was done on an 18x24 Cotton Duck Canvas that is 2 inches thick in profile! This was the most expensive canvas I ever bought so I'm glad it turned out okay.

The light inside doesn't do well for my pics but it is midnight so I can't take it outside, but I included this one so you could see the splatter.

These are a bit blurry but I wanted a few close ups so you could see the details.

Here is a pic I got of Pamella in action on Easter, Ha Ha sorry Pamella!

Some Of My Favorite Pics

Hi, I know I haven't posted in a while and I haven't really taken any more new pics lately but I was looking through some of my old photos I've taken and these were a few of my favorites.
This was a pic I took when I was in New York on a boat tour. It kinda looks like a post card.

Here is a horse at the Junior Museum
A flower at Maclay Gardens right by the water! I love the reflections of the trees in the water.
Aislynn at the beach!
Bailey in Black & White, isn't she a doll? She looks so happy!
Andrew kissing his prized posession, a bass!
Last but not least this is one of my all time fav pics I took of Aislynn. This was taken when Pamella still lived in Navarre and we put a black sheet up and I used natural sunlight that came through the window, to me it looks like it could have been taken at a studio or something. Well, that's it for now next time I will have some new pics to post.

My Latest Artwork

Here is my latest painting that I have been working on for the past few weeks. It is a pic of Bourbon Street from when I was in New Orleans! I started out with all the heads and I loved it but then when I started adding the buildings and balconies, etc I disliked it more and more but this is the final project. I may eventually go back and paint over some of the areas I don't like but it is so time consuming so I have to feel really motivated to do it. Anyhow, hope every one has a marvelous weekend!

Happy April Fool's Day

Here is a pic I took of Buddy with my film camera with my 300mm lens, isn't he precious.
Here is another one, I love that I got the tongue in action, Ha!

Here is a pic that I took of Cheryl at her wedding and it didn't turn out to good but after playing with some settings I think I got it to look kinda cool.
Another pic of my friend Brittany from the wedding too! I have a funny story: So today my boss wanted to pull a good April Fools Day trick on our employees so she and I dressed up in baggy boy jeans and wore huge sweatshirts with hoodies and sunglasses and we went into the store and walked around waiting for some one working to notice but no one did so we took it to the next extreme and grabbed a few bottles of wine and stuck them under our arms and one of the managers was working in the kitchen dept and we started clanking dishes together and she finally noticed and she made face to face contact with me but still didn't know it was me and we kept walking around and we heard her call the other manager working and say "hey we got these 2 punks walking around trying to steal wine" we were laughing so hard so then she walked up behind us and asked to see our ID's and I couldn't help it I busted out laughing and gave it away but we yelled April Fool's! It was pretty funny, and it was interesting to see what kind of reaction people have to someone dressed as we were, we got lots of disapproving looks and some people actually seemed frightened. Anyhow, thats it for now.
